After School Programs
Home Study Centers serve students from first grade through high school with educational support and after school supervision.
Great resource for parents and children
Home Study Centers:
- are equipped with computers, printers, a small library
- provide ample area for students to study and complete homework assignments
- are a safe place for kids to go after school, a place where kids can meet their friends and get homework help
Home Study Centers are located in DHA properties throughout the city. They are open five days a week during the school year from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
DHA partners with various organizations to operate the centers. These organizations include Central Dallas Ministries and the Boys and Girls clubs. Volunteer tutors work with the children at the
centers. The program is available for DHA clients.

Resident Councils
Resident Councils are community-based organizations that serve as the voice of public housing residents. This voice speaks loudly to develop and change policies that improve living conditions in public
housing and keep residents informed of related community issues. DHA's Resident Services department works with councils to help them meet their goals.
Meetings
The Resident Councils meet once a month (except during the summer months) at DHA properties.
Topics at meetings may include improving community safety, learning about neighborhood services and making their home more energy efficient.
Get involved
Community ownership - staying informed, invested and involved in community progress, events and issues - is what ultimately leads to change.
