Greenleaf Village
One such successful public/private DHA partnership is Greenleaf Village. Adjacent to DHA's central office in Lakewest Village, Greenleaf Village is a partnership between DHA, KB Home, American CityVi
sta and Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity. The partnership addressed the persistent local shortage of quality, affordable housing with the construction of 310 single-family affordable homes.
The neighborhood was constructed on land owned by the DHA. KB Home and American CityVista built 210 homes, some starting in the $80s. In addition, Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity built 100 homes
starting at $60,000.
American CityVista worked with local churches, schools and community groups to make the development part of a neighborhood and special financing options were made available for homes at Greenleaf
Village to create affordable monthly payments for working families.
Greenleaf Village is just one example of DHA's commitment to expand its outreach to moderate-income families. The partnership is proof that DHA is successfully reaching out to foster good working
relationships with outside companies and non-profits that share its objectives of providing affordable housing. It is also part of DHA's commitment to West Dallas.
